Cumulus Media has made a significant reduction of force at its Indianapolis cluster.
Kevin Freeman has departed Country 95.5 WFMS after 34 years.
Freeman joined the station in 1990 and was part of the show led by Jim Denny until Denny’s retirement at the end of last year. Most recently, he co-hosted with Matt Malone, who transitioned from afternoon shows to succeed Denny in January, and Deb Honeycutt, a morning show member since 2000. Additionally, Freeman hosted overnights on Westwood One’s Classic Country network.
Additionally, Barrett Media has learned of other cuts, including:
Jimmy Steele PD WZPL and afternoons WNTR.
Carter Marshall the assistant producer for the “Smiley Morning Show” on WZPL, where he also voice-tracked middays.
Laura Steele PM Drive WJJK.
Jennifer Trevino Promotions.
And several on the sales side.
