During an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, global superstar Whoopi Goldberg announced she is part of a group which has launched a new women’s sports network. The network, called the All-Women’s Sports Network (AWSN) will look to piggyback off the recent success of women’s sports led by the Caitlin Clark revolution in basketball.

“I’m launching the first global women’s sports channel,” Goldberg said to Fallon. “It’ll be the home for live women’s sports from around the world. Everything from soccer, basketball, tennis, cricket, curling, you name it, if a woman is playing it, we’re showing it.”

Per the official website, the company says the channel will be available in 65 countries. Goldberg said the network has already launched in Asia, the Middle East and India. Goldberg also said a big announcement is coming soon about launching in the United States.

Goldberg told Fallon she has had an idea like this for a long time. “…For years, I’ve been talking to people and saying, ‘Wouldn’t it be great if we could go around the world, start getting young athletes in high school so that we can grow with them and grow up with them?’…”I feel like that will help us show that athletics, when they’re done brilliantly…it doesn’t matter who’s doing it. We don’t really have that relationship with women’s sports.”
