Audacy’s WCBS-FM in New York morning show hosts “Foxx and Annie in the Morning” successfully raised $60,078 for America’s VetDogs, exceeding their initial fundraising goal by $10,000. The initiative, launched in recognition of Veterans Day, is intended to assist local veterans by providing them with trained service dogs.
Foxx and Annie recently visited the headquarters of America’s VetDogs on Long Island, where they met veterans and learned about the rigorous training process that service dogs undergo. Through personal accounts shared by the veterans, they observed the significant role that service dogs play in promoting recovery, enhancing independence, and fostering family connections for those who have served in the military.
“There is no better feeling leading up to Veterans Day than raising funds to provide a service dog to a heroic veteran,” said Foxx and Annie. “The WCBS-FM community is strong, and that showed in the beautiful messages left with donations. Our hearts are full. Thank you for showing up for our veterans!”
The initiative carried special meaning for Annie, whose father is a veteran of the Army and was born on Independence Day. The cause garnered a positive response from listeners, who expressed their support through encouraging messages accompanying their donations.
