Report: Netflix Targeting Mina Kimes for NFL Christmas Broadcast Studio Show

If Kimes wants to be part of the NFL broadcasts on Christmas Day, ESPN would reportedly permit her to do so.

Netflix is currently preparing to broadcast two NFL games on Christmas Day, representing the first season of a three-year pact granting it these live broadcast rights. The games will be produced by CBS Sports and are reportedly set to include play-by-play announcers Ian Eagle and Noah Eagle, along with analysts Greg Olsen, Nate Burleson and J.J. Watt, and the broadcasts are also expected to implement sideline reporters as well. The streaming provider is reportedly aiming to create a roster for studio coverage that would be hosted by FanDuel TV personality Kay Adams with ESPN NFL analyst Mina Kimes. Ryan Glasspiegel of the New York Post was the first to report interest in Adams and Kimes to take part in the venture.

Kimes, who serves as an analyst on NFL Live and appears across ESPN programming, works with several brands outside of the network. Through Omaha Productions, she is the host of her own podcast, The Mina Kimes Show Featuring Lenny, which has a content agreement with ESPN through 2034. Moreover, she appears on programming produced by Meadowlark Media, such as The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz and Pablo Torre Finds Out. Kimes will be part of The Simpsons Funday Football broadcast next Monday as the Cincinnati Bengals face the Dallas Cowboys, the first time she will be taking part in this type of endeavor.

If Kimes wants to be part of the NFL broadcasts on Christmas Day, ESPN would reportedly permit her to do so. Kimes first started working for ESPN in 2014 where she wrote stories for ESPN The Magazine, and she was also the original host of the ESPN Daily podcast. Before being named an NFL analyst in 2020, she co-hosted The Morning Roast national weekend show on ESPN Radio alongside Domonique Foxworth and Clinton Yates.
