Educational Media Foundation (EMF) is set to enhance its network portfolio by adding a third Christian network. The organization has agreed to acquire the Association for Community Education, which operates the Spanish Christian network “Radio Nueva Vida” along with its associated stations and translators.
The agreement involves EMF taking on the role of the sole member of the Association for Community Education, pending approval from the FCC, and no financial compensation will be exchanged.
EMF Interim CEO Tom Stultz said, “For more than 42 years, EMF has been a pioneer in using media to share the Gospel. This alignment with Phil and Mary Guthrie and the RNV Team will enable us to innovate and reach new audiences, ensuring our mission continues to thrive in a whole new way.”
Radio Nueva Vida President Phil Guthrie commented, “Since 2010, Educational Media Foundation has partnered with Radio Nueva Vida to serve the rapidly growing Spanish-speaking population. I am thrilled we are solidifying our Kingdom partnership; there is so much work to do, and I know with God’s help, together we’ll be better!”
Radio Nueva Vida, based at 90.3 KMRO in Camarillo, CA, broadcasts across several EMF-owned facilities, including translators in major cities like Austin, Chicago, Los Angeles, Phoenix, and Portland.
As part of this transition, all employees of Radio Nueva Vida will continue their roles as the Association for Community Education becomes a subsidiary of EMF.
EMF has identified enhancing service for the Hispanic audience as a primary objective. Earlier this year, the organization introduced “Música de Adoración!” as a digital sub-brand of “Air 1,” which has reportedly accumulated 300,000 hours of listening.
