NewsNation has announced it has struck a multi-year contract extension with Chris Cuomo for his primetime program to remain on the upstart cable news channel.
Cuomo originally joined the network in 2022 after his high-profile exit from CNN the previous year.
“Of course I am staying,” said Cuomo of his contract extension. “Where else but NewsNation can you expose the game instead of being forced to play? Let’s get after it!”
Since joining the network, ratings from Cuomo have increased by 54% in the total viewer category during the 8 PM ET timeslot. The show has also seen an uptick in the Adults 25-54 demographic, with 28% growth in that sector.
“Chris is a one-of-a-kind talent whose unrivaled analysis and commentary has helped grow the audience at NewsNation and strengthen our brand,” said Sean Compton, President of Nexstar’s Networks Division. “He believes strongly in NewsNation’s mission of delivering ‘News for All Americans’ and we are extremely pleased that he will remain a staple of the network’s primetime lineup.”
