NBC Sports has announced that Football Night in America will broadcast live from Universal CityWalk Orlando this Saturday, Dec. 21 ahead of its presentation of the NFL Holiday Special between the Houston Texans and Kansas City Chiefs at 1 p.m. EST. The program is generally filmed from the NBC International Broadcast Center in Stamford, Conn., but it will be hitting the road this week ahead of the launch of Universal Epic Universe. Viewers of the program on NBC and Peacock will be granted an exclusive look at this new theme park, which will join Universal Studios and Universal Islands of Adventure at the resort.
Maria Taylor will host the special edition of Football Night in America on-site from Universal CityWalk Orlando with former Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett, three-time Super Bowl champion Devin McCourty and former NFL quarterback Chris Simms. As per usual, Hall of Fame head coach Tony Dungy and two-time Super Bowl champion Rodney Harrison will join co-host Jac Collinsworth from the site of the game, this one being GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. Additionally, Mike Florio, Matthew Berry and Steve Kornacki will make contributions to the show in studio as well.
The lead Big Ten Saturday Night broadcast team of play-by-play announcer Noah Eagle, analyst Todd Blackledge and sideline reporter Kathryn Tappen will be on the call for the game. Taking place concurrently will be the EA Sports Madden NFL Cast, an alternate stream exclusively on Peacock inspired by the award-winning video game. NBC Sunday Night Football will take place the next day when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers face the Dallas Cowboys at 8:20 p.m. EST with Mike Tirico, Cris Collinsworth and Melissa Stark.
