Classix 102.9 Atlanta is shifting from Adult R&B to Classic R&B and Today’s Southern Soul, effective tomorrow (2/1).
The adjustment will be a blend of Classic R&B with Southern Soul and is aimed at honoring Atlanta’s music roots. The station will continue to air “The Rickey Smiley Morning Show.”
Program Director Tony Richards said, “Southern Soul is where it’s at. We are gearing up to deliver this dynamic genre in a fun and powerful way while still cherishing the Classic R&B hits our audience adores.”
Cluster OM Derek Harper added, “We are happy to serve our listeners with the music they love. Southern Soul is rapidly gaining traction as a favorite genre, and we are proud to feature it prominently throughout our daily lineup.”
The new mix will feature artists like King George, Tucka, Sir Charles Jones, and Calvin Richardson.
