Tom Kraeutler, the longtime host of the home improvement-focused radio show Money Pit has died after complications from a recent surgery.

An accomplished craftsman, education, and former chair of New Jersey’s first regulatory authority for licensing home inspectors, Krauetler’s show is heard on more than 450 stations around the country.

Segrete, who co-authored one of the two books written by Kraeutler, shared fond memories of her co-host.

“When my kids were born, Tom was there in the hospital,” said Segrete. “When my husband died, he held my hand and got me back to work. He was way more than just a friend and coworker. He was family.”

Tom Kraeutler is survived by his wife Susan and their three children.
