Audacy Executive Vice President of Podcasts Jenna Weiss-Berman has announced she is exiting the company to join a podcast outlet led by Amy Poehler.
Weiss-Berman co-founded Pineapple Street Studios in 2016 before the company was acquired by Audacy in 2019. She was later appointed to her role of Executive Vice President of Podcasts in March 2023. Before launching Pineapple Street Studios, Weiss-Berman was the head of audio for Buzzfeed.
She departs Audacy to work for Paper Kite Productions as its Head of Audio and Podcasts. The company was founded in 2002 by actress and comedian Amy Poehler. It recently inked an agreement to produce a new video series hosted by the former Saturday Night Live star called Good Hang.
“Jenna is the best in the biz and we are thrilled to be making more great things together,” Poehler told Deadline.
“Truly loved my nine years at Audacy and Pineapple Street Media, but who can say no to Ms. Amy Poehler?” Weiss-Berman wrote on social media. “Lots of fun new shows to come.”
Jenna Weiss-Berman is the latest executive to depart Audacy since the company emerged from its pre-packaged Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing. Longtime CEO David Field exited late last month, followed by CFO Rich Schmaeling.
