Sports Radio 93.3 KJR is adding a new voice in the middays with the debut of Marc James on MJ in the Midday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. PST. James will be taking over the time slot previously assumed by Jason Puckett and Jim Moore, both of whom exited the station last March. Moore was laid off by iHeartMedia, and it resulted in his longtime on-air partner Puckett choosing to end negotiations with the station and begin his own independent media venture. In the interim, Gregg Bell had been filling in hosting during the midday daypart on the Seattle sports talk radio station.
“We’re excited to welcome Marc James to the iconic call letters of KJR,” Mark Glynn, Washington area president for iHeartMedia, said in a statement. “Marc’s infectious energy plus his dynamic and engaging personality will bring an exciting new spark to Seattle Sports Talk.”
“Marc James joining our family is big for us,” Rich Moore, vice president of programming for iHeartMedia Seattle, added in a statement. “We’re extremely excited to be bringing in a new passionate voice to the Seattle market. Marc’s experience and love for our market will win our listeners over for years to come.”
James formerly worked in Tampa, Fla. at SportsTalk Florida 820 WWBA and started his radio career from the Miami-Fort Lauderdale marketplace in 2004. Throughout his career, he has hosted afternoon drive on WFNZ in Charlotte and morning drive on 92.9 The Game in Atlanta. Moreover, he formerly worked for the New England Sports Network in Boston as an anchor and also appeared on WEEI-FM. James has been working in the Tampa designated market area since 2020 on the sports talk radio station, and he will now be making the move to the Pacific Northwest.
“Sports Radio 93.3 KJR-FM is literally my dream job,” James said in a statement. “I am honored and eternally grateful to become part of this legacy station and its extremely bright future in Seattle.”
