Paramount Global has canceled the 2025 CMT Awards. The company is involved in a merger with Skydance Media, which is expected to be finalized early this year.
According to an internal memo obtained by The Hollywood Reporter from the office of Paramount’s President Bruce Gilmmer, pausing the events will provide the opportunity to “reimagine and optimize our events slate going forward.”
Last year, Paramount announced a plan to cut 15 percent of its US workforce, including closing its TV studio.
