Ben Fawkes Joining Yahoo Sports as Senior Sports Betting Analyst

Yahoo Sports has announced that it has hired Ben Fawkes to serve as the new senior sports betting analyst for the company, providing insights and expertise pertaining to the space. Ryan Spoon, the president of Yahoo Sports, divulged that Fawkes will be providing consumers with news around the industry, along with trends and insights. In addition to his written analysis, he is going to be appearing on Yahoo Sports gaming coverage and shows contributing to overall coverage. Fawkes joins the company as it continues to bolster its sports team, which has added various new members in recent months such as Ariel Helwani, Kevin O’Connor and Tera Roberts.

Fawkes has been involved in the industry for several years working in roles with companies such as VSiN, Gannett and The Athletic providing sports betting content and strategies. Prior to that time, he worked at ESPN for nearly a decade where he was involved in college football and gambling content for the platform, including the Daily Wager television show, and also covered the NFL Draft. Fawkes has also been writing on a Substack page focused on sports betting that has accrued more than 4,000 subscribers.

“In this role, Ben will deliver sports betting insights, break down the industry’s most compelling news and trends, and contribute to our overall sports betting content strategy,” the company shared on social media. “He will also contribute written analysis and appear across multiple Yahoo Sports shows.”

Yahoo Sports recently presented several live video shows from Media Row ahead of Super Bowl LIX between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles from New Orleans, La. that included contributions from various new personalities such as Nate Tice and Caroline Fenton. The company also announced a partnership with The Rich Eisen Show last November that presents clips and highlights of the multiplatform program. Yahoo Sports has utilized several sports betting analysts across its coverage in previous years, some of whom included Mark Drumheller and Ariel Epstein.
