Peacock has officially instituted the NBC Sports regional networks to its platform as an add-on subscription, providing Premium or Premium Plus subscribers access to live game broadcasts for teams in Major League Baseball, the National Basketball Association and National Hockey League. Users will now have the ability to add NBC Sports Bay Area, NBC Sports Boston, NBC Sports California or NBC Sports Philadelphia to their plans, unlocking direct-to-consumer functionalities for fans.

NBC Sports Bay Area will broadcast live coverage of the San Francisco Giants and Golden State Warriors with accompanying pregame and postgame coverage, along with programming surrounding the San Francisco 49ers. The regional sports network also provides viewers with sports news, analysis and commentary surrounding local sports teams. Furthermore, users will be able to watch live game broadcasts of Bay FC, the Santa Cruz Warriors and San Jose State University football and basketball.

The NBC Sports California regional sports network is presenting live game broadcasts for the Sacramento Kings, San Jose Sharks and Athletics baseball with pregame and postgame coverage. The network will also include live coverage of other sports teams in the locales, such as Bay FC, the San Jose Barracuda and San Jose State University football and basketball. Add-on subscriptions for NBC Sports California and NBC Sports Bay Area are priced at $17.95 per month.

Consumers subscribing to NBC Sports Boston will have access to live game broadcasts of Boston Celtics basketball with concomitant pregame and postgame coverage plus extensive programming surrounding the New England Patriots. The network also televises shows pertaining to Boston area sports, some of which include Early Edition and Boston Sports Tonight. Viewers will have access to Connecticut Sun and Maine Celtics live game broadcasts through the Peacock add-on subscription as well, which is being priced at $14.95 per month.

NBC Sports Philadelphia serves as the local television home of Philadelphia Phillies baseball, Philadelphia 76ers basketball and Philadelphia Flyers hockey, all of which have pregame and postgame coverage. The network also discusses the Philadelphia Eagles on its programming with live gameday and daily in-season shows surrounding the team, along with other local programs such as SpotsNet Central. The regional sports network is being priced at $24.95 per month and also encompasses live coverage of other college basketball and football teams. All RSNs will have ‘plus’ and overflow channels available as live-event streams on Peacock when they are programming live game broadcasts.

The addition of the Phillies, Athletics and Giants brings the total number of MLB teams with direct-to-consumer streaming options to 26 as Opening Day for a majority of the league approaches. Earlier in the week, the Los Angeles Dodgers announced a partnership with MLB on the SNLA+ streaming service that allows users to watch games without a pay television subscription. SportsNet New York also became available direct to consumer last month through a partnership with the league surrounding live game broadcasts of New York Mets baseball.
