MSNBC has announced the addition of Antonia Hylton and Elise Jordan to serve as co-hosts of the primetime edition of The Weekend.
Hylton and Jordan will join already announced hosts of The Weekend: Primetime Catherine Rampell and Ayman Mohyeldin on the show when it debuts next month. The show will air from 6-9 PM ET in the revamped MSNBC weekend lineup.
Antonia Hylton is an NBC News and MSNBC correspondent. She previously worked as a correspondent and producer of Vice News Tonight for HBO.
Elise Jordan serves as a political analyst for NBC News and MSNBC. Before joining the network, she served in press and communications roles at the White House and State Department during the George W. Bush administration. She also spent time as an advisor to Sen. Rand Paul’s (R-KY) 2016 presidential campaign.
“At this critical moment in our media and politics, it’s an honor to join this show and be at the table, shaping the conversation and asking the important and hard questions,” Hylton said in a statement.
“This is an inflection point in our country’s history, and MSNBC viewers are looking for well-rounded news, critical context and fresh ideas,” Jordan added. “I couldn’t be more excited to join this well-respected group of journalists and co-hosts as we cover the issues impacting viewers’ daily lives.”
The expansion of The Weekend comes after the previous hosts of the morning edition — Symone Sanders Townsend, Michael Steele and Alicia Menendez — are being elevated to a spot in the weekday primetime lineup at the network after the appointment of Rebecca Kutler to serve as the new President.
MSNBC has announced the cast of the morning edition of The Weekend will include Eugene Daniels, Jonathan Capehart, and Jackie Alemany.
