Nicole Shanahan — the former Vice Presidential candidate for Robert F. Kennedy Jr. — has signed a podcast deal with The Blaze, the company founded by Glenn Beck.
The deal is for Shanahan’s Back to the People podcast, which she launched last year. As part of the deal, Blaze Media will handle advertising sales for the program, and will also promote the show across its wide variety of platforms.
Shanahan told Semafor that she believed it was time her behind-the-scenes conversation became public.
“I created this podcast because I’ve spent so much of my life as an entrepreneur and as a philanthropist, and I was having just these conversations with people that I felt other people needed to know about in the general public,” Shanahan said. “And so that’s really what Back to the People is all about — taking these conversations, which were limited to a very elite and small circle of people, and broadcasting them widely.”
Blaze Media President Gaston Mooney shared that the new podcast deal with Nicole Shanahan is a shift in strategy for the company as it will focus on a creator-focused model prioritizing ad ales representation rather than building its owned and operated shows.
“When it comes to promotional support, marketing support, sales support, and even production support, we have a great team that can help work this stuff and help get things done,” Mooney said. “It gives flexibility to these content creators they otherwise (wouldn’t) have if they were not partnered with an organization like Blaze.”
Other podcasts on the network founded by Glenn Beck include shows from Pat Gray, Steve Deace, Liz Wheeler, Sara Gonzalez, and Jason Whitlock, among others.
