Podcasts From NPR, The Daily Take Top 3 Positions in May Podtrac Rankings

Podtrac has released its May podcast rankings, and shows from NPR and The Daily from The New York Times continue to reign supreme on the charts.

NPR News Now and Up First From NPR took the first and third positions in the rankings, while The Daily was sandwiched between the two in second.

Also finishing in the top five were Dateline NBC and Fox News Hourly Update, according to Podtrac’s U.S. Unique Monthly Audience rankings.

The Shawn Ryan Show finished sixth, while Barstool Sports’ Pardon My Take moved up one position to seventh. That marked the first movement of any show from the April to May rankings, as the first six programs remained unchanged.

True crime podcast Rotten Mango was the biggest mover inside the top 20, as it jumped 10 positions to finish 17th overall. Other movers included 48 Hours from CBS News, up three places to 12th, and another NPR podcast, Fresh Air, climbing four spots to 19th.

VINCE, the podcast helmed by Vince Coglianese after the high-profile departure of Dan Bongino, dropped two positions to 20th in the rankings from Podtrac.

In the Top U.S. Podcast Publishers & Networks rankings, iHeartMedia held the top two positions as iHeart Audience Network and iHeartPodcasts finished first and second, respectively. NPR finished third, followed by Libsyn (4th), Acast (5th), The Walt Disney Company (6th), Vox Media (7th), Fox Audio Network (8th), PodcastOne (9th), and Paramount (10th).
