The Daily from The New York Times has influenced dozens of other shows that have tried to duplicate the success of the podcast. NBC News is joining the fray with Here’s the Scoop.
Beginning on Monday, June 23rd, the network will host a daily afternoon podcast featuring “a deep dive into one or two of the day’s biggest stories – the complex issues and the stories driving headlines – with correspondents and reporters on the ground.”
The network asserts that the show will always be 15 minutes or less.
Here’s the Scoop will feature a rotating host. NBC News correspondents Morgan Chesky, Brian Cheung, and Yasmin Vossoughian will helm the episodes each week.
New daily episodes will be released at 5 PM ET and will be available on all major podcast platforms.
The offering is the latest podcast project from NBC News. Previous programs include the popular Dateline NBC show, as well as its award-winning portfolio of true crime projects.
