Suspect Arraigned in Chico CA Radio Station Stabbing

A Chico, California, resident accused of stabbing a co-worker at Results Radio made his initial court appearance Monday in Butte County Superior Court.

Kevin Leeson, 30, was arraigned on charges of attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon.

The suspect was arrested after Chico Police responded to reports of a stabbing at Results Radio located on Manzanita Court in Chico. Upon arrival, police found the stabbing victim trapped on the rear patio. Other employees had evacuated the building.

Police rescued the victim by breaching a fence. The unidentified person did not require medical attention.

According to reporting by Action News Now, police determined that Leeson intended to kill several of his co-workers. The station employed Leeson in an undetermined capacity.

Police credit quick response by employees with preventing others from being harmed.

Bail has been set at $555,000, and Leeson was remanded to custody.

Leeson will return to court on Wednesday for further arraignment.
