ESPN New York 98.7FM Adds Chris Canty To Middays

Date:

ESPN New York 98.7FM is beefing up its weekday lineup with the addition of former New York Giant Chris Canty. The former defensive end will join Hahn & Humpty, featuring Alan Hahn and former NHL goaltender Rick DiPietro, weekdays from Noon to 3p ET. He’ll also remain involved as a host for NY’s Game Day on Sundays (8a-11:30a). Canty had appeared regularly on the radio station as a guest contributor since ending his playing career last season.

“I couldn’t be more excited to join the 98.7 ESPN team,” said Canty. “After spending my ‘first career’ on the field, I’m looking forward to sharing my experience and perspectives with New York sports fans.”

Tim McCarthy, senior vice president & general manager of ESPN New York, added: “Adding Chris — a former New York Giant and Super Bowl Champion who grew up in the Bronx — is a great addition to our lineup. Chris brings tremendous football credibility to the station.”

During the course of eleven seasons, Canty played for three franchises. He was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in 2005 and played for America’s team for four seasons before joining the Giants in 2009. He spent four years in the big apple, contributing to Big Blue’s championship season in 2011, before wrapping up his career in Baltimore as a member of the Ravens from 2013-2015.
