A new radio station is coming to Miami in February and it will be headlined by a familiar voice. Cielo Media Holdings will launch 1210 The Man on Valentine’s Day. Orlando “Big O” Alzugaray will be the station’s afternoon drive host.
The Man will not be a sports radio station. Shows will focus on a variety of topics including business, news, sports, and gambling. Other shows and hosts have not yet been revealed. The station has promised to make those announcements via its various social media pages.
“We firmly believe this format will be revolutionary in that all men will have a radio [station] they can call their own. One that will inspire, edify, educate, entertain and inform,” Cielo Media CEO & President, Tony Calatayud said in a press release. “South Florida has been awaiting a station such as this one for many years. Our goal is an all-in-one home whereby men receive all they desire and more.”
Alzugaray has been a staple of the South Florida sports radio scene for a long time. He exited Entercom’s WQAM in November. He had been hosting The Big O Show in middays.
He said in a press release that he was eager to expand the format of his old shows. “No topic will be untouchable, no controversy will be avoided, if it affects the man, we’ll talk about it.”
