Chicago radio legend Mike North is ready to put his life story down on paper. He has begun writing his autobiography. Former WBBM-TV personality Aldo Gandia will serve as co-author of the book.
It’s rare that someone is putting their autobiography together after a movie focused on their life has been announced, but that is the case for North. North said in a press release that the book will be a perfect companion to the film. “The movie, is now being scripted, and we’re focusing on a particular period of my life. The book, however, will cover a much larger portion of my life.”
North also says he is using a unique device to guide the 26 chapters he is writing. “Each begins with a letter of the alphabet. So under ‘A,’ for instance, I will share a part of my life and connect it with the letter ‘A.’ So the first chapter is ‘A’ and it could be for ‘Angel,’ someone in my life who has been a blessing. Or, ‘A’ could a seven-letter word that some people think of when they hear me talk. Believe me, this book will be fun, it will be raw and it will be real!”
The plan is for the book to hit store shelves and online retailers before the movie is completed. North and his representatives are in negotiations with publishing houses to make that happen.
