610 Sports Radio in Kansas City quietly underwent a major lineup change last week, with afternoon co-host Brad Fanning no longer a part of The Drive. After co-hosting the show Tuesday, March 12th, Fanning has been off-air since, without an official announcement. This week Fanning has been removed from the station’s website.
Fanning worked as a part-time contributor with 610 for a few years, taking over as co-host of The Drive in 2017 when Danny Parkins left for Chicago’s 670 The Score. The former Channel 5 sports anchor worked on 610’s afternoon show with Carrington Harrison for just over two years. Fanning was hired by John Hanson, who left Kansas City in December for a program director position with Minneapolis news/talk station WCCO.
Finding a new co-host for Harrison in afternoon drive will be current program director Steven Spector’s first major programming move since being promoted to the position late last year. Spector previously served as the producer for Fanning and Harrison on The Drive.
While 610 searches for Harrison’s next partner, the longtime 610 host will carry the program solo for the interim. Harrison’s producer Brandon Kiley has stepped up as more of an on-air contributor since Fanning’s departure last week.
