Ron Artest Documentary Coming To Showtime In May

Quiet Storm, a documentary about the life of Ron Artest has already won critical acclaim. The movie picked up an award earlier this year for best documentary at the Santa Barbara Film Festival.

Now Quiet Storm has found a home on television. It will debut on Showtime on May 31.

This is the second documentary produced by Bleacher Report. The first came in 2016. It was directed by Johnny Sweet, who is also the creative force behind Quiet Storm.

The new documentary promises to get into the controversies and triumphs that followed Artest, now Metta World Peace, both on and off the court. It boasts interviews with an impressive list of former teammates and opponents including Kobe Bryant, Lamar Odom, Elton Brand, and Jermaine O’Neal, as well as psychologist Dr. Santhi Pariasamy.

Showtime is no stranger to the sports world when it comes to unscripted content. The network has produced documentaries about combat sports announcer Mauro Ranallo and the 2003 murder of Baylor basketball basketball player Patrick Dennehy. It was the home to LeBron James’s Shut Up & Dribble series last year, and later this year will be the home to a series called Action, which is about sports gambling.
