MSG Network Show Might Be Part Of Knicks Pitch To KD

Kevin Durant may not be in LeBron James territory yet when it comes to the entertainment world, but pending free agent has already dipped his toes in the water with his ESPN+ show The Boardroom.

The New York Knicks are hoping that TV is an important part of Durant’s future plans. According to a report from Marc Berman of the New York Times, the team may be planning to include the ability to host a show on the MSG Network as part of their pitch to lure Durant to chose New York in free agency.

Mark Vorkunov of The Athletic did some asking around about this story. The intention to offer KD a show on MSG Network may exist, but according to the sources Vorkunov spoke with, it likely will not be allowed.

A lot of teams are going to be in the market for Durant’s services this summer. It doesn’t appear as though a team-owned network will give New York a leg up in the process. The Knicks will have to hope, like everyone else, that their plan to create a longterm winner around him is enough to get Durant to put on their jersey.
