It looks like NBA TV is losing one of its top analysts. WNBA veteran Swin Cash is leaving TV for a role in the New Orleans Pelicans’ front office. According to Zach Lowe of ESPN, she will be names vice president of basketball operations and team development.
NBA TV plays a central role in this story. The Pelicans’ new executive president of basketball operations, David Griffin, made this hire. He met Cash working alongside her as an analyst for the league network during the season.
Cash, who has also appeared on FS1 and served as a studio analyst for New York Knicks broadcasts on MSG Networks, certainly has the championship pedigree the Pelicans are looking for. She won two national titles in her college career at UConn. She also won three championships during the course of her 15-year WNBA career.
She also has front office experience. Even while starting her broadcast career, Swin Cash was working in the New York Liberty’s front office as the team’s director of franchise development.
