The first Game 7 since 2011 was nothing but good news for NBC. The Blues’ Stanley Cup-sealing victory scored a 6.2 overnight rating. That is a record for any NHL broadcast on any network since overnight ratings began being tracked in 1994.
St. Louis delivered a higher local rating for this game than it did the Super Bowl. Locally, the Blues’ victory scored a 41.8 overnight rating. The game drew a 30.2 local rating in Boston. That is the highest rating for hockey on Boston TV since Game 6 of the 2013 Stanley Cup Finals between the Bruins and Blackhawks.
