Sean Kelley is leaving his job with the New Orleans Pelicans for a play-by-play role with ESPN Radio. He took to Twitter on Wednesday to announce that he will call games across multiple leagues for the network.
Kelley spent 14 seasons as the radio voice of the NBA in New Orleans, surviving both ownership and name changes for the franchise.
Todd Graffagini was announced as Kelley’s replacement with the Pelicans last month. Graffagini has been in New Orleans since 2007 serving as the radio voice of Tulane University.
Very few specifics are known about Kelley’s role at ESPN beyond what is in his Tweet. It is likely he will make his ESPN Radio debut the first week of the 2019 college football season. Who he will be partnered with in the booth is yet to be announced.
