Multiple sports media reporters have taken to Twitter on Thursday to report the same thing: the meeting between Dan Le Batard and ESPN President Jimmy Pitaro went well. Le Batard will reportedly back on Highly Questionable and back on his radio show on Monday.
Andrew Marchand of The New York Post tweeted that Pitaro and Le Batard are “aligned” and eager to move on from last week’s incident where Le Batard referred to ESPN’s policy of not addressing political topics unless they were directly related to sports as a “weak-ass shield.” Le Batard’s comments were in reference to a rally for President Trump during which a Greenville, NC crowd began chanting “send her back” in reference to Minnesota Congresswoman Ilhan Omar.
It isn’t clear what “aligned” means in this case, but the bigger story is that despite saying earlier this week that he was “nervous” and “sacred,” Le Batard ultimately has decided to stick with ESPN and ESPN is backing Le Batard..
