The television voice of the New York Yankees is ready to get back to work. Andrew Marchand of the New York Post reports that doctors have cleared Michael Kay to return to the YES Network.
Kay had a nodule removed from his vocal chords recently. Effects from the surgery have kept him off television and his afternoon radio show at ESPN New York for more than a month.
Ryan Rucco has filled in for Kay on YES with the exception of one game called by Bob Costas. Bosses at both Kay’s TV and radio homes have said they want to take it slow and not rush him back behind a microphone. No specific date has been set for Michael Kay’s return.
