FOX is taking its college football pregame show on the road for the first time this season. Big Noon Kickoff will originate from the Texas State Fair in Dallas ahead of the Red River Showdown on October 12.
The annual meeting between the Texas Longhorns and the Oklahoma Sooners is always played at the Cotton Bowl, which is on the fairgrounds. FOX will turn their broadcast location into an interactive party for those in attendance and then broadcast the game as part of the network’s Big Noon Saturday package.
This isn’t the first time FOX Sports has been on site for Red River. FS1 took its pregame show to the same game last year. That event was something of a toe-in-the-water for the network when it came to live pregame programming for college football.
Big Noon Kickoff has been a one hour show all season. The live show on October 12 will expand to two hours. Bob Stoops, who won a national championship as the Sooners’ head coach in 2000 will be a special guest.
