More Rumors To NYC Sports Radio Shakeup Reported

Andrew Marchand of The New York Post reports that he has heard new details of Bart Scott’s move from WFAN to crosstown rival ESPN New York 98.7. ESPN reportedly want to pair Scott with Alan Hahn for a new 1-3 pm show.

Marchand previously reported that Joe Benigno and Evan Roberts are the favorites to move to afternoons on WFAN after Mike Francesa’s retirement. Scott and his WFAN partner Maggie Gray had been considered the frontrunners for the job before the ESPN news broke. WFAN was considering adding a third voice to the show and reviving the original plan for afternoons after Francesa’s first retirement in 2017.

That leaves Gray without a partner and a contract that runs through next year. Marchand reports that she will likely be moved to mid days on WFAN, and paired with a new voice.

Marc Malusis filled in for Scott on Wednesday. Marchand says that pairing could make a lot of sense for the long term. There are other unnamed contenders that will reportedly get try outs, but Gray and Malusis were previously paired together at CBS Sports Radio.

What does that mean for CBS Sports Radio’s current lineup? The network begins the day with Taz and the Moose featuring Malusis and professional wrestling legend Taz. Whether the show would end or Taz would get a new partner remains to be seen.
