Martin Kilcoyne Moves On From 590 The Fan

Martin Kilcoyne is cutting his St. Louis media responsibilities in half. The KTVI-TV sports director was co-hosting a radio show with KSTV-TV sports director Frank Cusumano on 590 the Fan. Kilcoyne told the St. Louis Post Dispatch that he has parted ways with the radio station.

Kilcoyne’s radio contract expired on December 31. He returned from a Hawaiian vacation this week, but says he will not return to the Fan.

“We talked about me staying on but couldn’t come to an agreement,” he told Post Dispatch reporter Dan Caesar. “It was a great three years and I truly enjoyed working with Charlie Marlow, Frank Cusumano and so many talented people. I feel good about the shows that I was a part of and I hope the listeners feel the same way.”

Even without his mid day radio show, Kilcoyne won’t be without an audio outlet. He will be working on podcasts with Cardinals broadcaster Dan McLaughlin. Kilcoyne said that the number of projects he is working on played a role in his decision to step away from radio.

“Not only is he one of my favorite people I have worked with, but he has become a good friend,” Cusumano, who has been hosting their show on his own since the new year, said of Kilcoyne.
