SB Nation Radio is making another change to their weekday lineup with the return of Jake Asman, who takes over the 9 – 11am ET timeslot beginning Monday.
Piggy-backing off The Last Dance, Asman channeled Michael Jordan by releasing a simple statement alongside Gow Media’s SB Nation Radio, which read, “I’m Back.” After being off-air the last six weeks, Asman’s new show will replace a two-hour rebroadcast of Tony Desiere’s morning program, giving Eytan Shander a live lead-in.
In addition to his new 9 – 11am show on SB Nation Radio, Asman will also serve as a fill-in host for Gow Media’s ESPN 97.5 Houston and contribute to SportsMap.com.
Asman was one of several SB Nation Radio employees to be furloughed in late March as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. His return depicts some positivity for an industry ravaged by negative stories as the pandemic continues to make its impacts felt throughout the country.
Asman has been with SB Nation Radio since 2018, when he joined the network as a weekend host. His rise within the company saw Asman quickly garner a weeknight slot, before partnering with Cody Stoots in the afternoon last year. The afternoon post formerly held by Stoots and Asman has since been filled by Scott Ferrall.
