Rachel Bonnetta Says Clay Travis ‘Spews BS’ On Twitter

Just because Rachel Bonnetta works with Clay Travis doesn’t mean you should associate her with his social and political opinions. Bonnetta, who co-hosts Lock It In with Travis on FS1, made that very clear Sunday evening.

While he touts having never voted for a republican president, Travis spent the last few years painting a conservative picture with his viewpoints and building a large following in doing so. In 2018, Travis wrote a book with the claim liberals are ruining sports in its title, also believing Colin Kaepernick and other national anthem protesters wanted attention, not change. Recently, Travis maintains the COVID-19 pandemic is overhyped and is insensitive to the idea of African American’s being more susceptible to police brutality than white people.

So when Bonnetta was supporting people of color, equality and justice on Twitter, she said some of her followers were “surprised,” largely because she is a colleague of Travis. Bonnetta furthered her point by saying she “shouldn’t be held responsible for the bullshit he spews.”

Bonnetta also responded to any claims that she should just quit working with Travis on Lock It In saying, “do you have any idea how hard it was to get this job?”

She’s right, it’s difficult to get a job hosting a show on national television, it’s even tougher to do it as a woman and it can be equally hard for a female broadcaster to stand up for what she believes in by publicly calling out a male colleague.

The 27-year old sportscaster and native of Canada joined FOX Sports in 2016. As of Sunday night, Travis did not publicly respond to Bonnetta’s tweets.
