It’s been 25 years since the Houston Rockets won back-to-back NBA titles. 610 Sports Radio in Houston is celebrating on June 15 with an event the station has dubbed “Double Clutch Monday” in honor of NBA Hall of Famer Hakeem Olajuwon.
During that day, the station will present an interview with someone that was there for the team’s magical run at 34 minutes after every hour. The guest list is just beginning to take shape, but some of the names already announced include Bob Costas, who used to host the NBC Finals on NBC and Jeff Van Gundy, current ABC broadcaster and an assistant coach on the Knicks team that the Rockets beat for the 1994 championship.
No members of those Rockets teams have been announced as guests yet. With the whole day of programming named after an Olajwon move, it seems likely that he is a top target for the event.
