Pat McAfee Celebrates FanDuel Deal With Bags Of Cash For Staff

Very few in sports media know how to party like Pat McAfee. The CBS Sports Radio host and ESPN analyst got creative in announcing a new deal that makes FanDuel the official sports book of his show.

McAfee loaded backpacks with $50,000 in cash and hand delivered them to each of his producers. In a video created to announce the deal, McAfee says that some of the best advice he ever got from Dan Patrick was to always take care of a show’s support staff. McAfee, acknowledging that his media career could never have grown the way that it did without his crew, did exactly that.

There’s another big announcement buried in the video, although this one doesn’t come with nearly the same amount of fanfare.

At the tail end of the video, text appears on screen announcing that The Pat McAfee Show will expand from two to three hours “some time in August.” No details are offered, so when that expansion will occur and whether that means less time in the morning for Damon Amendolara or a time shift for Jim Rome remains to be seen.
