The Mightier 1090 has announced “The Rich Eisen Show” will be part of the San Diego sports station’s primetime weekday lineup when the brand returns to the airwaves later this month. Eisen’s program will occupy the Monday-Friday 9a-12p PT timeslot. After just signing on with NBC Sports, Eisen comes out of the gate with a strong radio affiliate, one which will allow his show to be heard in both the San Diego and Los Angeles markets.
Known for his work on the NFL Network, ESPN, and FOX Sports Radio, Eisen has a great ability to blend insightful commentary and an offbeat mix of humor and pop culture. His program has also frequently attracted the most recognizable names in sports and entertainment. With a large market station committed to airing his show, the radio and television host couldn’t be happier.
“1090 is an iconic and historic station where the entire team understands the type of show we are putting out on a daily basis. I am thrilled to be moving forward with them and being part of the re-launch of ‘The Mightier 1090am’ as they are an absolutely perfect fit,” said Eisen.
The Mightier 1090’s Bill Hagen added, “This exciting move is one of the final pieces of bringing The Mightier 1090 back on-the-air. Rich and his show will be a major focal point of the station. We have created a great blend of lifestyle and sports content for this re-launch. We look forward to getting back on the air very soon.”
1090 has already announced Scott Kaplan, Tony Bruno and Scott Ferrall will be featured in the station’s new weekday lineup. The heritage sports station has been off the air since April 2019. Prior to signing off, the station was the top rated sports radio brand in the market.
With new ownership in place, and a signal that covers the Baja to San Diego to Orange County to Los Angeles and all into the Central Coast, 1090 is hoping to reconnect with its long time listeners and revitalize the San Diego sports radio scene.
