Goodbye Los Angeles, Hello Nashville…
Conservative news and opinion company The Daily Wire announced plans to move from Southern California to Nashville,Tennessee via Twitter Wednesday.
Company co-founder and talk show host, Ben Shapiro said the state’s “terrible governance” was one of the main reasons why The Daily Wire is leaving its Sherman Oaks headquarters.
“I’ve lived my entire life in California. Within weeks, we’ll be taking our 75 jobs and leaving,” the tweet read.
Company co-founders Jeremy Boreing and Caleb Robinson also reacted to the news. Boreing has lived in Los Angeles for two decades. He said the state’s good weather is not enough to keep them there.
“But it’s hubris to think you can keep making it worse and worse for people and that somehow the idea of temperate winters will be enough to make them stay forever,” Boreing said.
About 80 percent of the company’s employees are expected to make the move down south.
The Ben Shapiro Show is the fifth most downloaded podcast according to PODTRAC. The Daily Wire has grown exponentially since its launch back in 2015.
