iHeartMedia has hired Emmy Award-winning journalist Ed Gordon to anchor news at the Black Information Network (BIN). The company also hired Chris Thompson and Angela Ingram to help the network in its infancy stages.
Thompson worked with the WOR RadioNetwork as executive director of network operations. Angela Ingram will continue in her role as SVP of communications for the Chicago region of iHeartMedia in addition to this new position.
BIN launched as an all-news radio network of stations targeting the African American community, carrying mostly national stories and features. Black Information Network will fill a void by providing continual news and objective information with full focus on the Black community,” said Tony Coles will be President of BIN: Black Information Network.
Black Information Network will also have an Advisory Board consisting of leaders of the community from both inside the company and externally who will bring their unique and important perspectives as an ongoing resource to the business.
