Olympic gold medalist Lindsey Vonn will make her broadcast debut this weekend. NBC Sports announced the 36-year-old former alpine ski racer will join their coverage of the women’s World Cup in Crans Montana, Switzerland on the Olympic Channel.
“It’s so special for me to be seeing ski racing through a different lens,” Vonn said in the press release. “I’m excited to be commentating for NBC Sports on Olympic Channel and use my expertise in the sport to add color to the stories of the incredible athletes, many of whom I competed against and know very well.”
Vonn, a two-time Olympic gold medalist is also the winningest woman in alpine skiing World Cup history. This Saturday and Sunday, she’ll offer analysis alongside lead commentator Dan Hicks during the downhill and Super-G events.
After competing professionally for almost two decades, Vonn brings knowledge and experience to the NBC Sports broadcast, along with entertainment as a well-known personality in pop culture. Vonn stepped away from the sport in 2019, citing multiple injuries in the years leading up to her retirement, but not before amassing 82 World Cup victories.
