77 WABC owner John Catsimatidis is close to deciding whether he will run for mayor in a city that he absolutely loves. Catsdimatidis spoke out about why he’s entertaining a mayoral run in The Big Apple during Bernie and Sid in the Morning Tuesday.
“I love this city and I want to be able to help it, but I have to resolve things with my company, and I have to resolve things with my family,” he said. “We want to go back to being the best city in the world, an international city that can create jobs.”
In 2013, Catsimatidis ran for mayor as a Republican and lost in the primary. He’s been pondering a second run ever since that defeat.
“The progressive flank of the Democratic Party seems to be controlling common-sense Democrats through fear and intimidation. I stand by my belief that the so-called Progressive movement is actually regressive, taking our city back 30 years.”
Catsimatidis hosts a show called Cats at Night which airs at 5:00 p.m. He also hosts a show The Cats Roundtable which airs on Sunday morning.WABC host Curtis Sliwa is also considering a run for mayor.
