Rush Limbaugh’s widow said there will be a virtual memorial service for her late husband with details to be released soon. Kathryn Limbaugh announced the news on the Rush Limbaugh Show Monday.
“We are in the initial stages of planning a celebration of life that will be able to be viewed by all of the audience and friends and extended family at some point in the near future,” she said. “We don’t have an exact date just yet; we’re working on some of the logistics.”
Mrs. Limbaugh took calls from listeners who expressed their gratitude for the conservative talk icon’s 30-year run on the radio. “We had somebody who could help us feel the words he was saying, and then we could put that to our everyday life,” one caller said. “He made us feel like he was us.”
Rush Limbaugh died last week at the age of 70 after being diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer last year.
“I turned him on and in the first five minutes, Kathryn, I didn’t know him physically, but I felt him emotionally,” said another caller. “It was the first time I ever had a real father figure in my life.”
