Media Outlets Relatively Silent Covering Newest Cuomo Developments

Many mainstream media outlets chose not to cover the latest developments in the Andrew Cuomo sexual harassment saga. The story, which was first reported by The Albany Times Union, claims that a sixth woman has come out and made allegations against the embattled governor.

The report indicates that the woman did not file a formal complaint with the governor’s office, but other Executive Chamber employees reported her allegations to the governor’s counsel.

Fox News dedicated a significant amount of time to unpacking the latest Cuomo news while CNN – a network that employs his younger brother – failed to mention the story at all.

“As I said last week, this is very simple, I never touched anyone inappropriately,” Cuomo said. “I never made any inappropriate advances … no one ever told me at the time that I made them feel uncomfortable. Obviously, there are people who said after the fact they felt uncomfortable.”

CNN has endured a lot of criticism for its handling of New York’s Governor. During the height of the pandemic, Cuomo Prime Time host Chris Cuomo lofted softball questions to his older brother while the death toll in nursing homes around The Empire rose dramatically.

MSNBC host Rachel Maddow has ignored the Andrew Cuomo controversy altogether, failing to mention him 10 consecutive weeks, according to Grabien transcripts.

ABC, CBS, and NBC also failed to mention the new sexual misconduct accusation hours after the claims were brought to light.
