Saga Communications launched a brand-new news/talk station in Clarksville, Tennessee Tuesday. Newstalk WNZE broadcasts on both 105.5 FM and 1400 AM and features local news updates and nationally syndicated radio hosts.
WNZE is part of the 5 Star Radio Group Family which is owned by Saga Communications which purchased the station from Consolidated Media LLC.
“When this station became available, we saw a golden opportunity to round out our portfolio with radio talk while also expanding what we can do with local news,” said the station’s general manager, Katie Gambill. “It gives our business partners new ways to reach more customers.”
Local management said Clarksville has not had a radio station with national talk shows for several decades. “It is exciting to be able to offer that for listeners, and right here at home,” said operations manager, Ryan Ploeckelman.
The station’s national lineup includes Red Eye Radio, Gordon Deal, Hugh Hewitt, Dennis Prager, Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, and John Batchelor.
Arkansas Sen. Tom Cotton gave the listeners of Clarksville a shout-out on Tuesday during an appearance on Hugh Hewitt’s show. “Hello and greetings to all of our friends at Fort Campbell and in Clarksville who are working with and around and supporting the 101st Airborne.”
