Although plenty of Americans are receiving their vaccinations for COVID-19, the virus continues to claim the lives of many, and the latest person to lose their battle is a Fox News and Fox Business producer.
Eric Spinato, a senior producer for Fox News and the Fox Business Network, died of the coronavirus over the weekend, the network announced. In a memo obtained by The Hill, Fox News stated Spinato’s contributions to their broadcast were “instrumental to the growth and entrepreneurial success.”
Spinato worked for all the major news networks in his career, beginning with Fox News in 1998 worked as a booking producer, story editor, and several other roles. In 2004, he left the network to work for CNN and MSNBC before returning to Fox in 2007 to help launch the Fox Business Network.
“Eric was an immensely gifted and aggressive booker and was renown for booking the innumerable ‘gets,'” the memo said. “Many of us can probably recall the cheerful greetings and outreach we received from Eric over his many years here.”
Upon learning the news of Spinato’s death, tributes poured in from his Fox News colleagues and those across the media and public relations landscape.
