Pittsburgh talk personality Wendy Bell has been promoted to full-time status at St. Barnabas Health System-owned news/talk WJAS-AM.
Bell parted ways with KDKA-Radio last year after she said park rangers should shoot people who vandalize public monuments.
The station also hired Rose Tennent to host the 12:00 noon to 3:00 pm daypart. WJAS will feature six hours of back-to-back conservative female programming.
“We are proud to have strong, intelligent, and informed talk radio with Wendy from 9:00 am – 12:00 noon and Rose from 12:00 noon to 3:00 pm,” said station president J.D. Turco. “Both women have very distinctive styles.”
Bell was fired from WTAE-TV in 2016 after 18 years when she made comments deemed racist on her official Facebook page following a mass shooting in Wilkinsburg in which five adults and an unborn child were killed during a backyard cookout.
Tennent, who with Jim Quinn hosted The War Room on WPGB until 2013 when the Pittsburgh-based nationally syndicated show was cancelled.
