A Philadelphia talk radio station carried out a successful 12-hour radiothon recently raising $95,000 for the United Service Organization of Pennsylvania and Southern New Jersey(Liberty USO).
Talk Radio 1210 WPHT hosts Rich Zeoliand Dom Giordano anchored the coverage utilizing USO staff and families, dignitaries and special guests such as actor Justin Melnick, WWE announcer Lillian Garcia, and Phillies broadcaster Larry Andersen.
“We’re proud of another successful year raising funds and awareness for Liberty USO,” said market manager David Yadgaroff. “These individuals have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country and it’s our honor to band together with our listeners to support them and their families.”
The station, which is owned by Audacy, has been participating in this radiothon for the last three years.
“We care deeply about serving those who have served our country and I’m proud of the role WPHT plays in supporting Liberty USO,” Yadgaroff said. “This annual radiothon aims to raise awareness and funds on behalf of service members and their families right here in our community through the generosity of our listeners.”
