Chattanooga sports radio listeners will have to change the preset buttons in their cars. ESPN 105.1 has been sold. The programming will stay with Brewer. The frequency has been sold to the American Family Association.
“Brewer Media Group remains committed to the Chattanooga community, VP and GM Kira Brewer Headlee says in a press release. “This move will allow us to better concentrate our efforts and resources.”
She also confirmed that the company is still committed to sports radio.
“ESPN Chattanooga will remain with Brewer Media Group. We will be moving ESPN to one of our other signals. We have great enthusiasm for the format and will be enhancing our efforts by expanding its local footprint in the market. We want to continue to be the source in Chattanooga for all sports on all expertise levels.”
Brewer Media owns four other stations as well as weekly alternative paper The Pulse and the Chattanooga Traffic Network. The press release did not specify whether ESPN Chattanooga programming will end up on one of the other four signals or if the company has plans to acquire another station.
