98.5 The Sports Hub is on quite a roll. The Boston sports radio station once again finished 1st in the ratings with Men 25-54 according to Nielsen Audio data. Chad Finn of the Boston Globe was first to report the news.
The Hub recorded an impressive 13.8 share from January 7 to March 31. The performance was enough to lead the market, though 98.5 did slip from a 15.0 share in the fall. They were up nearly two full points year to year though.
98.5 cruised to 1st place in mornings thanks to a 14.0 share from Toucher and Rich. Zolak and Betrand finished 1st in middays too with a 14.5 share. ‘Felger and Massarotti’ led the entire market with a massive 16.5 share, 1st place finish in afternoons. And the combination of Adam Jones and Boston Celtics and Boston Bruins play by play lifted The Hub to a tie for 1st at night (6p-11p) with an 8.7 share.
WEEI meanwhile finished the winter book in 5th with a 5.1 share with Men 25-54. That number includes the station’s stream (0.2) and Providence number (0.2) from affiliate WVEI which also broadcasts in the market.
Among WEEI’s weekday shows, ‘The Greg Hill Show’ performed best. Hill delivered a 6.8 share in mornings (0.6 off the stream, 03. from WVEI) to finish 4th. Dale Arnold and Rich Keefe’s final midday book placed them 5th with a 5.2 share (0.3 from the stream, 0 from WVEI). Andy Gresh took over for Arnold on March 15th. His contributions won’t be known until the spring book comes out. Afternoons saw Glen Ordway, Lou Merloni and Christian Fauria record a 5.1 share (0.1 from the stream, 0 from WVEI) to finish tied for 4th. And ‘Mut at Night’ featuring Mike Mutnansky generated a 3.4 (0.4 from the stream, 0 from WVEI) between 6p-11p ET to place 10th.
